Bible Study

This week 5 guests joined us as we studied Matthew 8 v 18 -22 .

Is there a cost of following Jesus?
The teacher of the law said  “I will follow you wherever you go”
And the other disciple said “Lord, first let me go bury my father”
Jesus said “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.”
In other words,  following Jesus is not an easy life guaranteed.
He also said, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead”
Jesus must come first in our lives.

Bible Study

We continue to study Matthew’s Gospel each Wednesday.

Last week we had 4 guests join us as we looked at the second half of The Sermon on the Mount.
The key verses we discussed was v13  + v24 – 27.
Life is about choices we can make.
Do we choose the narrow gate, which leads to life, or the wide gate which leads to destruction?
Do we choose to build the house on the rock, which will not fall, or on sand, which will come crashing down when to storm comes.
Many who come into Webber Street are damaged by life’s storms.
Pray that we can help them rebuild their lives with a sure foundation in Christ.

Bible Study

For this last weeks bible study we had 9 guests to study Matthew 5  and 6.

We discussed verse 43 “Love your enemies” and how difficult it is for a homeless person when they are attacked without provocation..
We can only pray for God’s protection for all of His children whether housed or homeless.

Bible Study

This week we studied Matthew 4 v 1 – 11, focusing on the third temptation of Christ in the wilderness.

Three guests joined us in the study.
We discussed how people today worship idols without realising it.
The message “Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near” is just as relevant today as in bible days.
We must put aside those things that stop us from worshipping God in our lives.
Pray that our guests who believe in Jesus can move forward in their relationship with God.
Becoming part of a local church can make a big difference and yet few of them have found a church that they are comfortable in,
