Sleepout to help the homeless

Could you be a hero for the homeless?

Our missionaries provide practical and spiritual support to many rough sleepers every week. On Saturday 10 November we are organising a Sleepout in aid of our Webber Street Day Centre in Waterloo. If you could sleep outside for just one night to help raise monies for this vital gospel ministry then please get in touch to find out more.

Visit: to find out more.

Bible Study – 25th July 2018

After a few weeks break we have resumed our weekly Bible Study.

Glen recapped on what we had previously studied in the book of Matthew over the past few months, reviewing various parables and teachings of Jesus.

Today we looked at a short passage in Matthew 22:34-40 about the greatest commandment and what it means to love the Lord your God (first commandment) and the second commandment which is like it, loving your neighbour as your love yourself.

Everyone in the group (staff and guests alike) agreed that we all fall short of fulfilling these commandments but that Jesus fulfilled this completely.

We are looking forward to what else we can learn from book of Matthew as we dig deeper into Gods word.

Bible Study

This week we studied Matthew 21 v 23 – 46 with several guests who are living on the street.
As we sat around the table and discussed the parable of the two sons and their responses to the father’s request, it was agreed that all of us have been guilty of disobedience at some time in our lives. However the first son changed his mind and obeyed his father’s request. It is only by repentance and belief then we can enter the kingdom of God.
Pray for a lady who came to bible study who was just released from hospital after attempting suicide.

Bible Study

Great bible study with 3 of our guests this week on Matthew 19 v 13 – 30.

Jesus said “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven”.Jesus was rebuking the disciples for thinking Jesus was too busy to see the little children. In the previous chapter Jesus was asked by his disciples “Who is the greatest?” But in God’s kingdom the least shall be the greatest. The rich young man who came to Jesus, went away sad, because Jesus asked him to give away his wealth, which he could not do.Most of our guests have no money to hinder them from entering the kingdom. But they can still have proud hearts , thinking they can “Do it alone”.Pray that those attending the bible study each week , might become like little children, with humble , teachable hearts.

Bible Study

This week Paul led the Bible Study with 8 guests.

We studied Matt 17 v 14 – 21 about the demon possessed boy and discussed how important faith is.
Paul showed us a mustard seed to show how small it is.
Jesus said “if you have faith like a grain of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move,
and nothing will be impossible for you.”.
We discussed the different types of ‘mountains’ in our lives , that seem impossible to move.
We all need daily faith to live as a follower of Jesus.
Where does this faith come from?
Romans 10 v 17 says ” Faith comes by hearing and hearing through the word of God”
So we encourage the guests to join us weekly to study God’s Word and in so doing , increase their faith

Bible Study

This week Amanda took the bible study on Matthew 16 together with 6 guests at Webber Street. Each of the guests had very different backgrounds, and yet they had one thing in common…. They were wanting to know Jesus. During the study, Amanda stopped at verse 15 where Jesus asked the disciples “But who do you say that I am?” Peter’s reply was “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God” Jesus said “.. flesh and blood has not revealed this to you , but my Father who is in heaven” Pray that these guests who heard this, will come to see Jesus as the Son of the living God, for themselves.

Bible Study

This week we were joined by 4 guests to study Matthew 15. The Pharisees were concerned that Jesus’s disciples didn’t wash their hands before they eat. They were more concerned about traditions than the state of their hearts. Jesus was more concerned about what comes out of our mouths than what goes into our mouths. There was much discussion about pollution!. London is a place where the air that we breath pollutes our lungs without us knowing it. In the same way we are affected by sin which is so prevalent in London. The outward appearance of smart suits and nice cars disguises the sin we live amongst. Psalms 119 v 9 ” How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word.” We give the guests their own bible to read and show them how to live according to it.

Hidden talents revealed

One of our missionaries shares how drawing with the guests has created a relaxed and fun environment, allowing the guests to express themselves and encourage one another during the sessions.
